Vicryl is Ethicon's brand of a multifilament absorbable suture that is flexible and easy to handle. Thanks to its favourable properties, Vicryl has a very broad range of applications and can be used whenever an absorbable suture is required. After 14 days in vivo, 65% of its initial tensile strength remains, and after 21 days, 40% remains. The suture material is completely absorbed after 50–70 days.
