Your personal privacy and the security of your personal data are important to us. Updated 2024-09-13
We care about your personal privacy and the security of your personal data processing, and therefore want to inform you about how we handle your personal data according to the privacy policy below.
In this policy, we inform you about which personal data we collect, how and for what purpose we process the personal data, and how you can act if you have questions or are dissatisfied with our handling of your personal data.
Swevet AB ("MWI Animal Health"), Reg. No. 556621-5843, is the data controller for the processing of your personal data in cases where MWI Animal Health collects the personal data and determines the purpose and intent of the processing. For example, when you order a product via our website or request a quote.
Since May 25, 2018, the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) has replaced the Swedish Personal Data Act (1998:204) (PUL) to strengthen the protection and rights for all individuals whose personal data is processed.
Personal Data
Personal data is any kind of information that directly or indirectly can be linked to an identifiable natural person (e.g., name, address, personal identity number, email address, IP address, and other identification data). The collection and processing of personal data we carry out is necessary for us to provide the services offered by MWI Animal Health. Processing refers to, for example, collection, reading, use, transfer, and deletion of personal data. Personal data is processed only for intended purposes.
Four legal bases under which we operate:
LEGAL OBLIGATION
In certain cases, companies are required to register personal data, such as to comply with bookkeeping obligations under the Accounting Act. The Accounting Act requires companies to save documents and machine-readable media related to your bookkeeping for seven years after the end of the financial year.
CONTRACT
In customer and supplier agreements, we register and handle personal data (only the data necessary to fulfill the contract). We retain data based on the agreement as long as the contract is current, and beyond that period if another legal basis applies, such as legal obligation.
CONSENT
Consent is defined by the regulation as “any freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her.” Unsubscribing from, for example, newsletters is effective immediately.
BALANCE OF INTERESTS
This applies if the company can demonstrate that its interest in processing the data outweighs the individual’s right to privacy. This legal basis can then be invoked.
Technical reasons
For technical reasons, certain personal data must be processed and stored when you visit our website MWIAnimalHealth.se. This includes date, time of visit, pages visited, browser identification data, and operating system used. This data provides us with information about the number of visitors and how the website is used. The processing is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). In this balancing test, MWI Animal Health has assessed that we have a legitimate interest in ensuring network and information security and improving website functionality, that the processing is necessary to achieve the purpose, and that our interest outweighs your right not to have your personal data processed for this purpose.
Processing a request for a quote
In addition to visits to the website, personal data is collected and processed to handle requests for quotes. The processing is necessary for MWI Animal Health to enter into and fulfill the contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Communication regarding requested products or services
Processing of personal data also occurs when communicating with you about requested products. Such communication is necessary to fulfill the contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
When you communicate with us through other digital channels
Personal data is processed when you communicate with us through other digital channels, such as email or social media, related to the purchase of our products or services. We use your personal data to respond to your inquiries. The processing of these data is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in providing effective service. In this balancing test, MWI Animal Health has determined that we have a legitimate business interest in providing effective service.
Registration for training
Processing of personal data occurs when you register for training. This processing is necessary to fulfill the contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Handling payments
To manage payments for the products and services you purchase from us, your personal data is processed as a necessary part of the contractual obligation (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). In some cases, this personal data is processed to meet statutory requirements, for example in accounting (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Customer surveys
We may use your personal data to conduct surveys aimed at improving our service. The processing of these data is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in improving our service. In this balancing test, MWI Animal Health has determined that we have a legitimate business interest in improving our service to you.
Marketing purposes
Your personal data (including but not limited to name, address, phone number, email address, ID number, electronic identification data) may also be used to send you information and offers about our products or services. If we use your personal data for direct marketing via email or other electronic means, this is done with your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. For other marketing, we base the processing on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in marketing our products and services.
By implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures, MWI Animal Health is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is handled securely and protected against intrusion, access, disclosure, loss, or any other unauthorized processing. MWI Animal Health operates in accordance with current and applicable security standards. We conduct regular security audits and update our security measures accordingly.
We collect, process, and store only the personal data that is necessary to fulfill our obligations to you as a customer. The data is always limited to what is strictly necessary for each specific purpose for which it is used.
Since our service to you depends on your personal data being accurate and up to date, we ask that you inform us of any relevant changes to your personal information. You can contact Customer Service to notify us of any updates. If we become aware of incorrect information, we will update the data and inform you accordingly.
The data is stored for the period agreed upon or required by law, and we ensure that personal data is deleted when it is no longer needed for its intended purpose. The retention period depends on the purpose and the legal basis for the processing, so there is no general storage period that applies to all processing activities.
When required by law, MWI Animal Health will obtain your consent before processing your personal data. You can withdraw your consent at any time by notifying us. At the bottom of this text, you will find information on how to contact us to make such a request.
We transfer personal data to third parties when we use subcontractors or partners to fulfill the agreement we have with you, as well as in cases where a crime is suspected and we are obligated to provide such personal data to authorities. To ensure that the data is handled securely and only for the purpose of fulfilling the ordered service and intended purpose, these third parties are bound by the same statutory obligations that apply to MWI Animal Health. This is done through MWI Animal Health entering into a so-called data processing agreement with the relevant third party.
Examples of such third parties include:
Marketing Cloud – used for course participant registrations and newsletter mailings.
Google Analytics, Hotjar – analytics tools.
CookieBot – consent management platform for cookies on the website.
Carriers such as Unifaun, PostNord, Schenker, BudAB, Bring.
For more information about the transfer of personal data, please contact our Customer Service. Contact details can be found below.
Your personal data may be stored on servers or otherwise processed by our service providers outside the EU/EEA.
When your personal data is processed outside the EU/EEA, we always ensure that an adequate level of protection is in place and that appropriate safeguards are implemented. Such safeguards may include the use of the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. The Standard Contractual Clauses are available on the European Commission’s website.
According to data protection legislation (GDPR), you have the right to control your own personal data and receive information directly from us about how we process data about you. Below you can read about your rights:
Right of access
You have the right to ask us to confirm whether we are processing personal data about you and, if so, to receive a copy of the personal data we process about you by requesting a so-called register extract. Please note that if we receive an access request, we may ask you to provide additional information to ensure efficient handling of your request and to ensure the information is provided to the correct person.
Right to rectification
You have the right to have inaccurate personal data we process about you corrected without undue delay. Within this right, you also have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, considering the purpose of the processing.
Right to erasure
You have the right to ask us to delete personal data we process about you, and we are obliged to delete the relevant personal data without undue delay under certain circumstances, for example, if the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or otherwise processed. You can ask us for more information about under what circumstances we are obliged to delete your personal data by contacting us. Please note that we are not obliged to delete your personal data if we can demonstrate that the processing is necessary for us to, for example, comply with a legal obligation, establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or if we have any other legal basis to retain the data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request that we restrict our processing of your personal data under certain circumstances. For example, if you dispute the accuracy of the personal data we process, you may request restricted processing for the time needed to verify the accuracy of the data. You can ask us for more information about under what circumstances we are obliged to restrict the processing of your personal data by contacting us.
Right to object
You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data based on our legitimate interests, citing your personal situation. You also always have the right to object to us using your personal data for direct marketing. When you notify us that you no longer wish to receive direct marketing from us, we will cease sending such marketing to you.
Right to data portability
If our right to process your personal data is based either on your consent or the performance of a contract with you, you have the right—if the processing is automated—to receive a copy of the personal data concerning you that you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used digital format, and to transfer that data to another data controller without hindrance from us. You also have the right to request that these data be transferred directly from us to another data controller, if technically feasible (so-called data portability).
If you believe that our processing of your personal data violates applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority within the EU/EEA (such as the Swedish Data Protection Authority, www.imy.se), in your home country, the country where you work, or the country where the alleged violation occurred.
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy. If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by sending information to you via email. The updated Privacy Policy may involve changes in how we handle your personal data, so it is important that you review our Privacy Policy each time we inform you of an update.

Targeted cookies
Sometimes cookies are used to offer visitors relevant advertising (targeted cookies) based on which pages have been visited on our site. They do not store personal information directly but are based on a unique identification of your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will see fewer targeted ads.
Strictly necessary cookies
Some tracking technologies are essential for our website to function properly and cannot be disabled in our systems.
